Though a few days ago I saw a post on Tumblr, sadly I cannot find the post so if you have the link if you would please provide in the comments I would appreciate it, that went about explaining why Iman created the brand and her struggles to get it started so I decided to look into the brand a bit more.
"Launched in 1994, the IMAN brand philosophy holds that women with skin of color represent many races, cultures and ethnicities. IMAN Cosmetics, Skincare and Fragrances are designed for African American, Asian, Latina and multi-cultural women with skin tones in a myriad of shades."©
The point of pride with Iman cosmetics is there wide range of shades available in their foundations/BBs/concealers.

You can find your shade match under the "Find Your Shade" tab.
There variants in the shades when it comes to each product but once you enter the "Find Your Shade" tab you can click your shade to see what the variant shades are for your skin tone.
There is also the Meet Your Match tab that shows you what your shade would be in Iman Cosmetics from other brands such as

This also shows you all the variant shades for the brand match.
